SF Express Hong Kong Participates in Short Message Service (SMS) Sender Registration Scheme

2024.6.12
  • In order to combat SMS fraud, SF Express (Hong Kong) Limited (referred to as "SFHK") actively participates in the "Short Message Service (SMS) Sender Registration Scheme" introduced by the Office of the Communications Authority, Hong Kong Police Force, and the telecommunications industry as a "Registered Sender." Starting from 6 June 2024, all SMS messages sent by SFHK will be identified with the SMS Sender ID "#SFExpress." This allows the public and our customers to easily verify the authenticity of the SMS messages, providing them with enhanced protection. Telecommunications service providers will intercept all messages that are not sent by "Registered SMS Sender IDs" but contain the "#" symbol in the sender's name to assist public in identifying the messages.

Please note that the Short Message Service Sender Registration Scheme does not apply to:

    1. Two-way transaction messages that allow recipients to directly reply to the sender's number.

    2. Local subscribers of Single-Card-Multiple-Numbers/One-Card-Two-Numbers mobile service provided by non-Hong Kong operators.

SFHK once again reminds the public not to provide any personal information, such as identification documents, bank accounts, or credit card details, in response to messages or calls from unknown sources, in order to avoid potential losses.

If customers have any doubts regarding emails, text messages, or incoming calls, we strongly encourage them to immediately contact our customer service hotline at (852) 2730 0273 (Hong Kong) or (853) 2873 7373 (Macau) to verify with our customer service representatives. If personal information has been disclosed to suspected impersonators claiming to be our company's staff, please report the incident to the police immediately or call the Hong Kong Police Force Anti-Deception Coordination Centre at 18222 for further assistance.
