SFHK Urges Customers to Beware of Various Phishing Scams

  • S.F. Express (Hong Kong) Limited (hereinafter“SFHK”) has discovered that criminals continue to counterfeit to be the company and send phishing fraudulent text messages (SMS) and emails to customers, claiming that the shipment has not been delivered or require the customer to confirm the payment of the freight and the delivery of the parcel, and attaching a phishing link to require customers to track the shipment and make payment, so as to lure customers to click on fake websites to obtain personal and credit card information and other fraudulent activities. Since the sender of the fake SMS and email is using "SFExpress", SFHK hereby declares that the fraudulent SMS, email and website have nothing related to the company.

    SFHK reiterates that the SMS and emails sent by the company will specify the correct waybill number. Customers should be vigilant if receive the SMS and emails without the waybill numbers. SFHK would like to remind customers and the public to be more vigilant and pay attention to the following points, so as to be cautious of being deceived:

     

    1. Customers can download the SFHK APP (SF-EXPRESS APP), or enter to the SFHK official website directly in the browser with hyperlink https://htm.sf-express.com/hk/en/ to check the status of the shipment
    2. SFHK staff will NOT proactively communicate with customers in Putonghua or pre-recorded Putonghua voice messages, nor will forward the call to any law enforcement agencies
    3. No service charge amount will be indicated in the SMS messages sent by SFHK and customers will not be requested to settle bill via any hyperlinks
    4. If in doubt, customers can check the authenticity of the waybill number on the SFHK APP and SFHK official website

     

    SFHK once again reminds the public not to respond to any suspicious calls, emails or SMS messages and please protect personal information carefully. Do not provide personal information and passwords through hyperlinks from unknown sources, or conduct money transfers and remittances.

    If customers are in doubt with the SMS messages or/and incoming calls, please contact SFHK at (852) 2730 0273 (Hong Kong) or (853) 2873 7373 (Macau) for verification. Customers may also report to Police or contact Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Police at Anti-Scam Helpline at 18222 for assistance if personal data may have disclosed to suspected parties.
