  • (Hong Kong, November 13, 2024) S.F. Express (Hong Kong) Limited (hereinafter referred to as “SFHK”) has partnered with Po Leung Kuk to establish the “SFHK Bursaries.” This initiative aims to broadly support students of all grades from various Po Leung Kuk schools, encouraging them to strive for academic excellence while also discovering their personal potential. The bursaries program covers outstanding and financially disadvantaged students from primary, secondary, and special schools under Po Leung Kuk, helping to alleviate their family’s financial burden and encouraging them to actively participate in extracurricular activities for holistic development. The award ceremony was recently held at Sally Wong Leung Hall, Vicwood K.T. Chong Building, where nearly 200 outstanding students each received a bursary of HKD 5,000.

Mr. Steve Shum, Head of Hong Kong & Macau Region at S.F. Express, shared in his speech: “Nurturing youth development has always been an important mission for SFHK. We hope to encourage students to develop their talents through the bursaries program. As a logistics-focused company, we understand that efficient transportation is not just about delivering goods but also about connecting different sectors of society. Therefore, in addition to valuing quality service, SFHK also places great importance on talent development. We hope to unite various forces through different community activities and donations to promote social development.”

Mrs Helena C Y TUNG PONG, Chairman of Po Leung Kuk, expressed her gratitude for SFHK’s trust and support: “Children and youth are the engines driving long-term social development. While Po Leung Kuk cares for the underprivileged and builds harmonious communities, we also place great importance on the development of our students. Through the "SFHK Bursaries",  we aim to recognize and support outstanding students, allowing them to develop in multiple areas and fully realize their potential. I hope all the bursaries students will continue to pursue excellence in various fields, uphold the spirit of Po Leung, and contribute to Hong Kong.”

Students shared their learning experiences and future plans, expressing their gratitude for the support from SFHK and Po Leung Kuk in the ceremony. Among them, Lee See Yan from Po Leung Kuk Chong Kee Ting Primary School was praised for her amiable personality and excellent academic performance. She excels particularly in physical education, having won multiple awards in Hong Kong unicycle competitions and representing the Hong Kong Taekwondo team. Lee stated that she will continue her sports training while maintaining excellent academic performance, hoping to enter her desired secondary school.

Tang Zi-Han, a student from Po Leung Kuk Lo Kit Sing (1983) College, has also achieved remarkable results. She actively participates in volunteer services and has demonstrated exceptional talent in swimming, recently winning multiple medals at an inter-school swimming competition. Tang plans to use this bursary to purchase swimming equipment, enhance her practice materials, and enroll in a baking interest class, aiming to excel in both her studies and interests while enriching her extracurricular life.

In addition, Chow Ka-Ming, a student at special school under Po Leung Kuk Yu Lee Mo Fan Memorial School actively participates in classroom activities and is a member of the school's dance group, athletics team, and flag-raising team. He has received multiple awards for his outstanding performance in various areas and is also enthusiastic about helping fellow students in need, which is why he has been selected as one of the award recipients.

Ms. Charlize Liu, Head of Public Affairs and Communications at SFHK, stated: "Po Leung Kuk has always been a charitable partner of SFHK, collaborating on various public welfare projects, particularly in youth development. SFHK is committed to promoting the talent development of young people. We look forward to more cooperation in the future regarding talent cultivation, community care, and diversity and inclusion. By leveraging SF Express's expertise in logistics, we aim to give back to society and make contributions to all sectors."

SFHK and Po Leung Kuk have consistently shown concern for the welfare of disadvantaged communities, collaborating on numerous initiatives over the years. In 2022, SFHK donated HKD 2.5 million to Po Leung Kuk and launched several social responsibility projects, including the "Charity Fund for the Disadvantaged " program, which provides emergency financial assistance to families and individuals facing sudden changes or special difficulties, benefiting over 200 households.

Additionally, SFHK places great importance on talent cultivation. In the same year, it partnered with Po Leung Kuk to organize the "Youth Entrepreneurship Support Programme," which offered e-commerce marketing courses and logistics support to around 100 young entrepreneurs, helping them gain practical experience and enhance their entrepreneurial skills. This renewed collaboration focuses on supporting grassroots students, further providing comprehensive and appropriate assistance to disadvantaged groups.
