“Scameter+”APP Assists the Public in Identifying Online Pitfalls
SFHK has actively responded to publicize and increase public awareness of fraud prevention. SFHK reminds the public not to provide any personal information, such as identification documents, bank accounts or credit card details to messages or calls or websites from unknown sources so as to avoid losses.
The Hong Kong Police Force has launched the latest upgraded version of the one-stop scam and pitfall search engine “Scameter+” APP to help the public identify frauds and online pitfalls. When the public encounters suspicious calls, online sellers, friend requests, job advertisements, investment websites, etc., they can enter the platform account name or number, payment account, phone number, email address, website, etc. into Scameter+” APP to assess the risks of fraud and cyber security.
