2026.7.27
  • Dear Customer,

According to an announcement issued by U.S. Customs, effective 12:01 a.m. (U.S. Eastern Time) on July 24, 2026, an additional tariff of 10% to 12.5% will be imposed on imports from 60 economies, including Taiwan, pursuant to Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.Goods shipped from Taiwan to the United States will be subject to a 10% tariff under Section 301, which will not be added on top of the Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) tariff. At the same time, the temporary 10% global tariff imposed under Section 122 of the same Act will expire at the end of its statutory 150-day period and will cease to apply.

一、Key Impacts on Express Shipments from Taiwan to the United States

1、Under the final implementation of the Section 301 tariff measures, if the applicable MFN tariff on goods exported from Taiwan is below 10%, the Section 301 tariff will make up the difference to bring the total tariff to 10%. If the applicable MFN tariff is 10% or higher, no additional Section 301 tariff will apply.

2、Products not previously subject to Section 301 tariffs on imports from Taiwan (e.g., certain household products, toys, and general electronic accessories)

    • Before adjustment: Base tariff (MFN rate) + 10% (Section 122 tariff)

    • After adjustment:

(1)If the base tariff (MFN rate) is 10% or less, the total tariff = base tariff (MFN rate) + Section 301 tariff = 10%

(2)If the base tariff (MFN rate) exceeds 10%, the total tariff = base tariff (MFN rate) + 0% Section 301 tariff = base tariff (MFN rate).

Change: Products from Taiwan with an MFN tariff below 10% will be subject to a Section 301 tariff sufficient to bring the total tariff to 10%. If the MFN tariff is already 10% or higher, no Section 301 tariff will apply.

3、Products already subject to Section 301 tariffs on imports from Taiwan(e.g., traditional manufactured goods, machinery and equipment, hardware components, chemical products, and certain consumer plastic and rubber products)

    • Before adjustment: Base tariff (MFN rate) + existing Section 301 tariff + 10% (Section 122 tariff)

4、Products subject to Section 232 tariffs (e.g., steel, aluminum, copper, automobiles, and automotive parts) are exempt from the new Section 301 tariff. For additional information on exempt products, please refer to the annex of the relevant U.S. Federal Register notice.
