Notice from U.S. Customs Regarding Cargo Descriptions in ACAS Effective November 12, 2024

Dear Customers,
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued new rules governing Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) declarations for all air cargo entering or transiting the USA, effective for all flights arriving in the USA from November 12, 2024, onwards. Clear and accurate descriptions in both Chinese and English must be submitted before the cargo is loaded.
1. Clear and precise descriptions of the cargo must be written in both the “Product Description (Chinese) 中文品名” and “Product Description (English) 英文品名” fields. The recommended format for declarations is: Target + Material + Purpose + Product Description. Examples include Women’s Knitted Woolen Coat, Home Drinking Glass, Lawn Mower’s Stainless Steel Crankshaft, Synthetic Crystal Necklace, and so on.
2. Improper product descriptions include: clothing, garment, apparel, dress, costume, fashion, samples, gift, cap, film, parts, daily necessities, accessories, consolidated, switches, equipment, pumps, household goods, etc. The list of unacceptable cargo descriptions is available on the CBP website at:
Please remember that parcel declarations should be truthful, accurate, clear, and complete. Vague or misleading descriptions are prohibited. If a parcel is delayed or seized by Customs due to a non-compliant declaration, any consequences including but not limited to delays, rejection, destruction, and fines will be the responsibility of the shipper. The shipping fee and cargo cannot be returned either.
