Notification for New Pre-appointed Customs Declaration System for Imported Goods

Dear clients,
To prevent customers or customs agents from falling victim to their personal information being used to import illegal controlled goods or “ghost” parcels, the Ministry of Finance announced on its official website(https://reurl.cc/OpYLK3), that it will enforce a new pre-appointed customs declaration system from December 28, 2021. Goods not pre-appointed by the importer can no longer be imported:
Phase 1: From December 28, 2021, the new system will apply to those who have registered with their real name on the app but have reported identity fraud, or those who have repeatedly not replied to notifications.
Phase 2: From March 1, 2022, the public may set up the app to use their real name to declare imported goods and confirm whether or not imported goods are theirs.
Phase 3: The new system will apply to all members of the public from July 1, 2022.If an importer intends to import goods from overseas, Taiwan S.F. Express will send customs declaration information via the app before the goods arrive in Taiwan. Upon confirmation by the importer that the goods are indeed theirs, matters related to export customs clearance of the exporting country will begin. To avoid any failure to complete a customs declaration by an appointed customs agent, possibly resulting in loss as the goods may be returned, importers are advised to follow these steps:
Step 1: Download the EZ WAY app and complete EZ WAY member registration and real-name verification.
Step 2: When ordering, fill in the correct name and phone/mobile contact number of the recipient.
Step 3: When your goods arrive in Taiwan from overseas, a pre-appointed declaration notification will be sent by EZ WAY. Please make sure the contents of the declaration are correct as soon as possible, then click on “Declare Conformity”.
