Fuel Surcharge

  • Introduction

     

    Fuel surcharge is a surcharge charged by shipping companies and other logistics transportation companies to reflect changes in fuel prices. It is to appropriately mitigate the impact of oil price fluctuations on changes in the cost of the transportation industry, so as to ensure service quality.

  • Coverage Area

    • Shipment from Hong Kong/Macau regions to Mainland China
    • Shipment to/ from Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan regions/International countries (*Applicable to International Standard Express and SF Economy Express only)

  • Charges

    • Percentage of Freight Charge* (Details of the latest announced surcharge rate)
    • The surcharge percentage is subject to monthly adjustment based on the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for jet fuel as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) two months prior to the adjustment
    • Fuel Surcharge waiver for for document(s) at or below 2.5kg sent from or to Hong Kong and Macau regions, and for document(s) at or below 2.5kg sent from Hong Kong and Macau regions to Mainland China and Taiwan region
