Taiwan S.F. Express Sponsors CPBL to Distribute Baseball Equipment to Develop Grassroots Baseball

2016.12.13
  • Taiwan S.F. Express has always spared no effort in social welfare. This year marked the first time we collaborated with the CPBL to supply baseball equipment to kids in an effort to develop the sport of baseball. The Shipping Cares event was officially announced at Chungyi Elementary School in Luzhou, New Taipei City. Taiwan S.F. Express shipped baseball supplies from various donors to all parts of Taiwan, including bats, gloves, soft and hard baseballs, allowing school baseball teams to practice with a complete range of equipment. Taiwan S.F. Express general manager Jaymison Huang and CPBL secretary general Chen-Kang Chu both came to encourage the young players while Chinatrust Brothers players Sheng-Wei Wang, Chia-Chu Chen and Taoyuan Lamigo Monkeys player Yu-Hsun Chen also taught them baseball techniques such as batting and defense. Taiwan S.F. Express mascot Shun Tsai also had fun with the students by participating in the baseball activities. The scene was like a “mini game of baseball” and the players played hard while Shun Tsai cheered them on.

The CPBL Shipping Cares social welfare event has a 14-year history of providing free baseball equipment and tutelage from current players to grassroots teams. The supplies are delivered to kids in need by S.F. Express. The event kicked off at Chungyi Elementary School in Luzhou, New Taipei City. Under the leadership of principal Chih-Chien Yeh, the school baseball team has been active for 18 years. There are currently around 40 members on the team. They practice after school to benefit their physical health as well as develop time management and the habit of active learning. Chungyi Elementary School is one of the focal points for the promotion of cultural diversity and international education by the New Taipei City Education Bureau. The “Taiwan S.F. Express & CPBL” Shipping Cares event will make “deliveries” all around Taiwan in November and December. In addition to “Delivering Love to Remote Areas” and giving supplies to regions ravaged by typhoons (i.e. the Hongye teenage baseball team of Taitung), we also sponsored professional baseball picture books, starting baseball education early. Taiwan S.F. Express assists school baseball teams in remote areas with the fastest speed and the best service, promoting the sport of baseball throughout the island.

“From its establishment in 2007, we have dedicated ourselves to providing a wide range of services in order to satisfy our customers, receiving high praise. Promoting public welfare is a corporate responsibility, an obligation. It’s just like baseball, one of Taiwan’s national sports. A baseball player strives for precise batting and perfect defense to win for the team. The same goes for the logistics industry, our carrier must also shoulder responsibilities like athletes. The modern logistics industry is not just about speed, but providing service precision to customers. The Shipping Cares event allows baseball education to start early. With the equipment delivered by Taiwan S.F. Express, the kids across Taiwan will be able to practice more fluidly. Combine that with guidance from current players, the students’ skills and knowledge will surely grow hence reduce the urban-rural gap. S.F. Express provides quality logistics all across Taiwan, delivering care and love”, expressed Taiwan S.F. Express general manager Jaymison Huang.
